WhatsApp voice message transcription rolling out to Android

WhatsApp’s voice message transcriptions are currently supported in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Hindi with more languages to be added soon. Users who opt in to the new feature will have to download an additional data package which will ensure all message transcripts are generated on-device.

WhatsApp is rolling out voice message transcriptions to its Android beta app. The feature is now part of the WhatsApp Beta (version 2.24.15.5) for Android and as the name suggests will transcribe your voice messages. The same feature was previously rolled out to iOS users last May.
